Mall of Qatar Hosts Al-Maha Art Exhibition
15 May 2024 - Mall of Qatar inaugurated Al-Maha Art Exhibition, a vibrant celebration of Qatar's rich and diverse culture, showcasing creative designs from esteemed educational institutions: Qatar International Primary School, Qatar International Secondary School, American School of Doha, Preparatory School BH, Sherborne Preparatory School AR, Sherborne Qetaf, QFBA-Northumbria University, CUC Ulster University, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Step One International school, and the talented artist Mehdi Nabavi.
The launch was celebrated in the presence of representatives from the participating educational institutions, the talented students, along with their families and friends, and Mall of Qatar’s management team. With a focus on the iconic Arabian Oryx, Qatar's national animal representing beauty and resilience, the students' artworks brilliantly amplified these qualities with their profound creativity, infusing each piece with joy and elegance.
Ms. Malini Saldanha, Head of Marketing & External Affairs at Sherborne Qatar, hailed the school's enthusiastic participation in Al-Maha Art Exhibition, emphasizing Sherborne Qatar's commitment to nurturing students' talents and fostering a culture of creativity within its community. Ms. Rim Kabbara, Director of Step One International School, conveyed her school's pride in being part of Al-Maha Art Initiative, saying: “Step One International School was honored to be part of this wonderful initiative to showcase our students’ artistic talents and creativity while working on the Oryx project. Students got their inspiration and designs from the country they live in and cherish the most: QATAR”.
Yahya, a student from Qatar International School, demonstrated remarkable dedication and creativity as he shared his excitement for the project, saying: “We really enjoyed coming to work on the oryx! We had so many ideas that we wanted to add into our design, and we talked a lot about how to combine all our ideas together. We love that our oryx has fun patterns to represent the diversity here in Qatar”.
Simran Santosh Kadam, a student at CUC Ulster University, expressed her happiness with the final Oryx design, a product of collective effort, saying:“Bringing together nature and technology in this art project was truly a work of passion and perseverance. It required dedication and hard work from everyone involved and we’re proud of the meaningful result”.
The organization of the exhibition is driven by Mall of Qatar's support for social initiatives that foster creativity, innovation, skill development, and the preservation of Qatari values and traditions. Beyond its visual allure, Al-Maha Art Exhibition serves as a source of inspiration, providing students with a platform to discover their hidden talents and deepen their understanding of Qatar's rich heritage and contemporary achievements. It ignites a passion for artistic exploration, encouraging students to push the boundaries of their creativity through vibrant palettes, intricate patterns, and captivating imagery.

Mall of Qatar distributes food kits to laborers across Qatar
Doha, Qatar, May 8, 2021: In line with its corporate social responsibility program and on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, Mall of Qatar, in collaboration with Wa’hab, has been spearheading an initiative to provide 300 kits to the laborers across Qatar enabling them overcome the current challenges and enjoy Eid moments.
The kits included food materials and personal hygiene items, and were well packed and delivered to the laborers with the highest standards of safety and sanitation standards. This initiative supports laborers and less privileged communities to enjoy the happy moments of the holy occasion.

Doha, Qatar, October 28, 2020: The cars' winners in the first three weekly raffle draws of the "Shop and Win' festival at Mall of Qatar received their cars today.
The car handover took place at the Mall of Qatar and was attended by Emile Sarkis, the General Manager, Mr. Nasr Jairoudi Alfardan Automobiles Generel Manager, and Mall of Qatar's management. The three winners received their prizes where Ramishwar Raut got a Mini cooper, Mohammed Abo Ouda got a BMW X1, and and Sharrukh Khan received the BMW 520i.
The Shop and Win Festival at Mall of Qatar, which comes under the theme "Pick and Choose," continues to give customers new hope to get a new luxury car. The winners' stories are inspiring; each of them expressed the importance of the prize to them.
Three coupons were enough for Ramishwar Raut to win the first car, a mini cooper brand one.
Ramishwar is a house driver and has been in Qatar for ten years. He expressed his extreme happiness stating, "This car has given me new hope for a better life. My wife gave birth to twin girls one night prior to the draw. I didn't expect that my happiness will be doubled with this new car. It will change my life. I can now think of a better future for my family, whom I am supporting. I thank God for this gift and thank Mall of Qatar for this great opportunity that helped me to start a new life".
Mahmoud Abo Ouda, the winner of BMW X1, never expected to win a car in his life. He stated, "It was a big surprise, but a happy one. This is the only spark of hope in this challenging world and during these difficult times. He added, "I was thinking of changing my old car, but with this new luxury one, I am not concerned anymore. It just came at the perfect time".
The story of the third winner is not less motivating. Sharukh Khan was pleased with the luxurious BMW 520i. He stated, "It is a dream that became true. No words can describe my happiness. Thank you, Mall of Qatar, for making this dream come true and for giving my family a better life."
Putting only two coupons in the dedicated box, Sharukh Khan didn't have much hope to win. He added, "It was the call from Mall of Qatar that turned my life. This is incredible, and having such a luxurious car was not something I expected at all. I urge everyone to try their luck, keeping in mind that shopping in the Mall of Qatar is comfortable and amazing. This festival is also a great added value to our spendings, something that is not available in any other mall".

The current 'Pick and Choose" festival is the biggest shop and win festival in Qatar, allowing customers to win twenty fascinating cars during the festival months. It offers customers more flexible options to choose their favourite car and the date of the weekly draw till the end of the campaign on January 14, 2021. Three cars have been won so far, with 17 cars are still available in the weekly draws or the grand prize draws.
Mall of Qatar visitors will need to buy a gift card of a minimum value of QAR300 and shop later or spend QAR 300 or more in any of the Mall outlets to be eligible for the weekly raffle draw. Also, customers who buy Gifts Card's worth QAR 500 or spend QAR500 or more will be entitled to participate in the grand prize raffle draw to win one of the two luxury cars in December. Doha, Qatar, February 2021: Mall of Qatar launched its winter campaign to educate children and adults on the importance of the environment and the impact of global warming on our lives and the arctic animals alike. The campaign comes under Mall of Qatar's social and environmental responsibility programs that aim to raise awareness of the community and encourage them to take positive actions towards our environment.
The campaign targets children and families and aims to educate them on important topics, including the environment and saving wildlife. The oasis area in the Mall was decorated with a landscape that simulates the arctic's actual wildlife, where snow and animals such as polar bears, penguins, dolphins, and squirrels are displayed. Visitors can scan the barcode next to each installation to access extensive English and Arabic information to know more about the risks and challenges and the impact of global warming on life on the plant.
Preserving the environment is at the core business of Mall of Qatar. In this campaign, the Mall reaffirms its vital role in educating the new generations on essential topics and raising awareness of critical cases, thus maintaining its position as a destination for edutainment in a safe environment.
