15 May 2024 - Mall of Qatar inaugurated Al-Maha Art Exhibition, a vibrant celebration of Qatar's rich and diverse culture, showcasing creative designs from esteemed educational institutions: Qatar International Primary School, Qatar International Secondary School, American School of Doha, Preparatory School BH, Sherborne Preparatory School AR, Sherborne Qetaf, QFBA-Northumbria University, CUC Ulster University, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Step One International school, and the talented artist Mehdi Nabavi.
The launch was celebrated in the presence of representatives from the participating educational institutions, the talented students, along with their families and friends, and Mall of Qatar’s management team. With a focus on the iconic Arabian Oryx, Qatar's national animal representing beauty and resilience, the students' artworks brilliantly amplified these qualities with their profound creativity, infusing each piece with joy and elegance.

Yahya, a student from Qatar International School, demonstrated remarkable dedication and creativity as he shared his excitement for the project, saying: “We really enjoyed coming to work on the oryx! We had so many ideas that we wanted to add into our design, and we talked a lot about how to combine all our ideas together. We love that our oryx has fun patterns to represent the diversity here in Qatar”.
Simran Santosh Kadam, a student at CUC Ulster University, expressed her happiness with the final Oryx design, a product of collective effort, saying:“Bringing together nature and technology in this art project was truly a work of passion and perseverance. It required dedication and hard work from everyone involved and we’re proud of the meaningful result”.
The organization of the exhibition is driven by Mall of Qatar's support for social initiatives that foster creativity, innovation, skill development, and the preservation of Qatari values and traditions. Beyond its visual allure, Al-Maha Art Exhibition serves as a source of inspiration, providing students with a platform to discover their hidden talents and deepen their understanding of Qatar's rich heritage and contemporary achievements. Doha, Qatar, 20 March 2022: Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) and Mall of Qatar signed a naming agreement to grant the naming rights of the Doha Metro’s Al Riffa station as a part of the marketing opportunities offered by Qatar Rail for the business sector in the State of Qatar.
The signing ceremony was held at Al Rayyan Hotel - Mall of Qatar. Mr. Ajlan Eid Al Enazi, Chief of Strategy and Business Development at Qatar Rail & Mr. Emile Sarkis, General Manager of Mall of Qatar signed the agreement in the presence of executives from the management team of both organizations and media representatives. Following the signing ceremony, the attendees visited the Al Riffa Mall of Qatar Metro Station to announce the new name on the digital signage and to take a group photo.
As per the ten-year agreement commencing this year, the new name will be displayed across all signs, directional boards, and screens at the metro stations, inside the train and on the official metro maps.
On the partnership, Mr. Ajlan Eid Al Enazi, Chief of Strategy and Business Development at Qatar Railways Company - said: “We are pleased to grant the naming rights of Al Riffa Station to the Mall of Qatar, one of the most prominent shopping destinations in the State of Qatar. This agreement comes as part of Qatar Rail's strategy to establish and develop longstanding partnerships with the business sector”.

He continued: “Al Riffa - Mall of Qatar station, located on the green line of the Doha Metro, is one of the important and prominent stations in the metro network, as it is directly connected to Mall of Qatar through a pedestrian bridge. The station is also one of the stations that connect to the 2022 World Cup stadiums where it provides direct access to Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium”.

Mall of Qatar and Qatar Rail have shared a strong legacy of partnership following the opening of the Metro station Al Riffa. Doha, Qatar, December 22, 2021: Mall of Qatar announced the winners of the fourth edition of the National Day Art Competition, the annual art contest dedicated to school students to encourage them to express their talents and skills.
Held under the theme “Protecting the Earth”, 46 students from 23 different schools submitted 45 drawings that reflect the slogan of the contest. The students were divided into three age groups: group 1 included students from 8 – 10 years, group 2 from 11 to 13 years, and group 3 from 14 to 16 years.
The jury panel consisted of Qatari artists Khalifa Al-Obaidly and Maryam Al-Mulla, who evaluated the drawings and decided the winners after a fierce competition. Emile Sarkis, General Manager of Mall of Qatar, handed over the certificates and gifts to the first three winners in each category, in addition to the people’s Choice awards.
“This art competition is one of the main activations held annually by Mall of Qatar to celebrate National day with students. We aim to encourage our young generations to express their thoughts and dreams through art. This year’s theme reflects our passion for the environment in line with the Qatar National Day slogan. Doha, Qatar, 4 October 2021: Mall of Qatar has signed an agreement with Al Rayyan Sports Club to be its official sponsor for the 2021-2022 season.
The sponsorship agreement was signed by H.E. Ali Bin Saud Al Thani, President of Al Rayyan Sports Club, and Mr. Jassim Hamad Al Attiyah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mall of Qatar. Rony Mourani, CEO of Assets Properties Management, the management company of Mall of Qatar; Mr. Ali Salem Afifa, Vice President of Al Rayyan Sports Club; and Mr. Emile Sarkis, General Manager of Mall of Qatar, attended the ceremony.
Mall of Qatar's sponsorship agreement with Al Rayyan Sports Club is part of its corporate social responsibility to support sports in Qatar. As per the agreement, the Mall of Qatar logo will be displayed on the front jerseys of Al Rayyan Sports Club’s basketball, handball and volleyball teams, in addition to the shorts of the football team.

A small fire occurred in the kitchen exhaust in one of the restaurants in Mall of Qatar, and it has been immediately brought under control without any injuries. Mall of Qatar management took the necessary procedures, and the Mall was instantly evacuated from tenants and visitors. The Civil Defense inspected the site and took the necessary procedures before resuming business as usual. A special retailer’s event was held to provide updates on the strategic priorities of the mall to position it as the region’s premier lifestyle destination
Doha, Qatar, September 7, 2021: Mall of Qatar has ushered in a new era of retail that will position it as the region’s premier lifestyle destination with elegant upgrades, new lifestyle-centred initiatives, and ambitious plans to support the nation’s retail, leisure and tourism sectors.
The details were revealed at a Retailers’ Meet held at the Sherborne School auditorium, the new school that has opened its doors in the Grand Zone at Mall of Qatar, as part of the ongoing strategic expansion programme.

Among the significant new actions that will position Mall of Qatar at the forefront of global luxury retail is a façade facelift that will make it more aesthetic and offer more Instagrammable moments for visitors. Running from 12 August through 11 September 2021, the first of its kind campaign in Qatar is part of Mall of Qatar's ongoing strategy to support the national economy and the Mall’s tenants while offering the shoppers a memorable shopping experience. The current prizes campaign comes off the back of several shopping festivals including “Scratch and Win’ and ‘Shop and Win’ which gave shoppers the chance to win instant prizes, in addition to twenty luxurious cars.

The 'Shop, Play, Win" campaign is based on digital draw. Two big platforms in two separate areas in the Mall were built for this purpose. Customers can digitally register via their phones by scanning a QR code placed at different areas at the mall, then submit their receipts, and scan a barcode on the platform via their mobiles to be connected with the big screens on the platforms, to spin the wheel and win instant prizes.
