Mall of Qatar has announced all mall tenants are exempt from rental costs from March until May 2020.
The decision comes on the back of the current health situation and precautionary measures taken by the authorities to limit any potential spread of coronavirus, and to provide maximum support to businesses during this challenging period.
Khaled Sam Hosn, CEO of Mall of Qatar said: “Taking into consideration the current situation and as part of our social responsibility, we want to showcase our commitment to investors, tenants and partners to tackle the financial consequences at this stage. We value our partnership and are confident that through our united efforts, we can undertake challenges together, prevent further outbreaks and reach our common goal of setting Mall of Qatar as the place to be leading mall in Qatar and the GCC Countries.”
All mall tenants are waived from their rental obligations for the months of March, April & May 2020, allowing them to reduce their monthly costs.
Mall of Qatar, the nation’s mall, reaffirms its commitment towards Qatar, citizens and all residents, and continues to take preventative measures to secure a safe environment for customers.

As part of the closing ceremony of “Shop Qatar”, Cheb Khaled performed last Friday at the iconic Oasis stage, singing his most popular songs Aisha, Didi and C’est La Vie among his many other hits. Shoppers enjoyed an exciting and unique grand concert by Cheb Khaled known as the world’s best-known Arab singer and "King of Raï" which was followed by a spectacular balloon drop. Celebrations had started just before the concert with “Shop Qatar” grand finale raffle draw which revealed the 14 lucky winners of cash prizes and super cars.

For the first time, Mall of Qatar is celebrating the Chinese New Year with an impressive array of events and activities! Chinese Drummers and a Dragon Parade already offered tension-filled performances and gave visitors the chance to truly immerse themselves into the rich heritage of China.
Until January 31st in the Luxury Court visitors can experience Chinese calligraphy, face painting, oiled-umbrella painting, and ribbon dancing, all while taking memorable pictures and bring them home as a souvenir.

In line with this year’s Shop Qatar festival, Mall of Qatar has planned spectacular entertainment featuring international shows and fun-filled activities in a festive environment.
Mall of Qatar, the Nation’s mall, is delighted to be part of the “Shop Qatar” celebrations from January 7th to 31st, organized by Qatar National Tourism Council, giving shoppers the chance to win exciting cash prizes and dream cars when spending 200 QAR at any of Mall of Qatar’s stores.
On this occasion Mall of Qatar will celebrate “Shop Qatar” with spectacular shows such as acrobatic aerial acts, D.C. Justice League super heroes, the cheerful Masha & The Bear and much more.
For the first time, Mall of Qatar will mark Chinese New Year celebrations with traditional Chinese entertainment, roaming parades and activities showcasing the history and heritage of this rich culture, from January 24th until 31st.

As part of the Qatar National Day celebrations, the Nation’s mall invited schools to take part in a unique contest to showcase students’ creativity and get a chance to win prizes
Under the motto” In the future I see Qatar as…”, 17 schools participated in Mall of Qatar’s initiative to show their creativity, talent and love for Qatar. During a ceremony held on Sunday December 15th in the mall’s luxury court, Khaled Sam Hosn, CEO of Mall of Qatar, announced the 9 winners per age group 8-10, 11-13/ and 14-16 years, who secured cash prizes for their schools of QAR 5,000 (1st place) QAR 2,500 (2nd place) QAR 1,000 (3rd place) and QAR 500 (People’s Choice Award). While the 9 winners were selected by a judge panel through criteria such as relevance to the theme, visual effectiveness, creativity and originality, the People’s Choice Award was selected by fans of Mall of Qatar’s Facebook page.
“We have been amazed at the outstanding talent which has been displayed across the 37 entries, which made judging a very difficult, but extremely enjoyable process. We would like to thank all the schools and students for their participation and creativity. The competition is an annual event which gives talented students the opportunity to have their artwork publicly displayed to celebrate Qatar National Day and connects Mall of Qatar with our community” said Khaled Sam Hosn, CEO of Mall of Qatar.

Rahma Riad concert, balloon drop, traditional Ardah and numerous activities attracted thousands of people to the Nation’s Mall on December 18th
Mall of Qatar showcased dazzling and captivating family entertainment on Qatar National Day. The patriotic program included Ardah shows, 5 diverse traditional arts & crafts areas for kids, marvelous decorations throughout the mall and a wonderful one-hour concert from the Superstar Rahma Riad at the iconic Oasis stage.
Rahma Riad is an Iraqi singer who rose to popularity after participating in Super Star 2, the pan-Arabic version of Pop Idol. She participated in Star Academy 7 and placed 2nd and has generated a popularity across the Arab world.

Mall of Qatar Hosts Al-Maha Art Exhibition
15 May 2024 - Mall of Qatar inaugurated Al-Maha Art Exhibition, a vibrant celebration of Qatar's rich and diverse culture, showcasing creative designs from esteemed educational institutions: Qatar International Primary School, Qatar International Secondary School, American School of Doha, Preparatory School BH, Sherborne Preparatory School AR, Sherborne Qetaf, QFBA-Northumbria University, CUC Ulster University, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Step One International school, and the talented artist Mehdi Nabavi.
The launch was celebrated in the presence of representatives from the participating educational institutions, the talented students, along with their families and friends, and Mall of Qatar’s management team. With a focus on the iconic Arabian Oryx, Qatar's national animal representing beauty and resilience, the students' artworks brilliantly amplified these qualities with their profound creativity, infusing each piece with joy and elegance.
Ms. Malini Saldanha, Head of Marketing & External Affairs at Sherborne Qatar, hailed the school's enthusiastic participation in Al-Maha Art Exhibition, emphasizing Sherborne Qatar's commitment to nurturing students' talents and fostering a culture of creativity within its community. "We are thrilled to be part of Al-Maha Art Exhibition," stated Ms. Saldanha. "This opportunity to paint the Oryx has enabled our students to express their creativity and uphold our core values. We take immense pride in their artistic contributions, which truly reflect the essence of Sherborne's values. Their collaborative spirit and innovative approach have truly brought the essence of our schools to life”.
Ms. Rim Kabbara, Director of Step One International School, conveyed her school's pride in being part of Al-Maha Art Initiative, saying: “Step One International School was honored to be part of this wonderful initiative to showcase our students’ artistic talents and creativity while working on the Oryx project. Students got their inspiration and designs from the country they live in and cherish the most: QATAR”.
Yahya, a student from Qatar International School, demonstrated remarkable dedication and creativity as he shared his excitement for the project, saying: “We really enjoyed coming to work on the oryx! We had so many ideas that we wanted to add into our design, and we talked a lot about how to combine all our ideas together. We love that our oryx has fun patterns to represent the diversity here in Qatar”.
Simran Santosh Kadam, a student at CUC Ulster University, expressed her happiness with the final Oryx design, a product of collective effort, saying:“Bringing together nature and technology in this art project was truly a work of passion and perseverance. It required dedication and hard work from everyone involved and we’re proud of the meaningful result”.
