15 May 2024 - Mall of Qatar inaugurated Al-Maha Art Exhibition, a vibrant celebration of Qatar's rich and diverse culture, showcasing creative designs from esteemed educational institutions: Qatar International Primary School, Qatar International Secondary School, American School of Doha, Preparatory School BH, Sherborne Preparatory School AR, Sherborne Qetaf, QFBA-Northumbria University, CUC Ulster University, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Step One International school, and the talented artist Mehdi Nabavi.
The launch was celebrated in the presence of representatives from the participating educational institutions, the talented students, along with their families and friends, and Mall of Qatar’s management team. With a focus on the iconic Arabian Oryx, Qatar's national animal representing beauty and resilience, the students' artworks brilliantly amplified these qualities with their profound creativity, infusing each piece with joy and elegance.

Students got their inspiration and designs from the country they live in and cherish the most: QATAR”.
Yahya, a student from Qatar International School, demonstrated remarkable dedication and creativity as he shared his excitement for the project, saying: “We really enjoyed coming to work on the oryx! We had so many ideas that we wanted to add into our design, and we talked a lot about how to combine all our ideas together. We love that our oryx has fun patterns to represent the diversity here in Qatar”.
Simran Santosh Kadam, a student at CUC Ulster University, expressed her happiness with the final Oryx design, a product of collective effort, saying:“Bringing together nature and technology in this art project was truly a work of passion and perseverance. It required dedication and hard work from everyone involved and we’re proud of the meaningful result”.
The organization of the exhibition is driven by Mall of Qatar's support for social initiatives that foster creativity, innovation, skill development, and the preservation of Qatari values and traditions. Doha, Qatar, August 8, 2020: Mall of Qatar hosted media representatives from Qatar for a real shopping and dining experience within precautionary and safety measures as per the instructions of the relevant authorities in Qatar.
The media were escorted by the Mall management on a ground tour in the mall premises and were introduced to the precautionary measures taken by the Mall, starting from the entrance, while moving around, during dining till their leave. Following the guidelines of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management and the start of the second phase of gradual lifting of restrictions imposed for the containment of COVID-19, The Mall of Qatar is welcoming visitors and shoppers at all stores while fully adhering to the precautionary measures and ensuring safe distancing protocol.
The second phase of the gradual lifting of restrictions has allowed all the retail stores to operate, apart from the recreational facilities, cinemas and children play areas. Restaurants and cafes will continue to provide takeaway and delivery services only.
The Mall of Qatar is open from 9:00 AM. It welcomes visitors to the hypermarket and pharmacies along with other retail shops till 10:00 PM from Sunday to Wednesday. On Thursday, the mall operates until 11:00 PM. Only the hypermarket, pharmacies, and essential services will continue to work throughout the weekends.
The Mall of Qatar would also like to remind visitors that all children under the age of 12 will not be permitted, following the instructions relating to phase 2 of the gradual opening currently underway.

In light of the recent decisions taken by The Supreme Committee for Crisis Management regarding the gradual lift of COVID-19 restrictions, Mall of Qatar welcomed visitors and staff to its facilities as it re-opened more than 100 stores in the first phase. The management of the Mall assures the public that all the necessary measures have been taken based on the Health and Safety Laws and the relevant instructions from the Government.
The safety of its staff, tenants, and shoppers are of utmost importance for the Mall of Qatar. So in addition to the appropriate measures, extra procedures have been implemented to ensure a smooth and comfortable return to its premises.

The first phase of lifting restrictions started today on June 15, will be followed by the second phase from July 1, third phase from August 1 and fourth phase from September 1.

As part of its continuous support to the tenants in light of COVID19, Mall of Qatar exempted mall tenants from rental costs for an additional month of June, following the exempt for three months from March until May 2020.
The current decision embraces all stores except operating stores (Terms and conditions apply*), a step that reflects the mall’s strategy to support tenants overcome the challenges posed by the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
Emile Sarkis, General Manager of Mall of Qatar said: “The decision comes in line with our social responsibility commitmentto our partners, community and the government effort. We have a strong relationship with our tenants, and taking into consideration the current closure of the stores in our mall based on Qatar’s authorities to close the stores as a precautionary measures to prevent any potential spread of coronavirus, we are keen to provide the extra support to our partners and exempt the closed stores from rental costs for additional month”.

Reiterating its responsibility towards tenants, Mall of Qatar, the Nation’s Mall, was the first mall that exempted tenants from rental costs. In line with its corporate social responsibility program and community outreach during the holy month of Ramadan, Mall of Qatar, in collaboration with Wa’hab, has been spearheading an initiative during this blessed month, to provide Iftar meals to the laborers across Qatar enabling them overcome the current challenges.
Hundreds of decent Iftar meals were well prepared, packed and delivered to the laborers who enjoyed a fresh iftar, and shared their joyful moments.
